Following an extensive selection process we appointed bi-design architecture to design a double storey rear extention and re-design the front of our home - we saw this as our "grand design" and was excited about appointing a professional architects practice... what a huge disappointment - we didn't get anything more than the ideas we gave to the architect and when he failed to resolve the problem of fitting a double bedroom with a dressing area and ensuite - we gave him the solution. To top it all off, the architect suggested we couldn't do anything to change the front as we are a semi-detached - again I offered an idea for a contemporary fascia and this was included. Planning Permission was approved without any changes. We still had to pay an extortionate price for "his" efforts. I will never use an architect again and will certainly never recommend people use an architect if they either have their own ideas or if it is a small project.
