I previously studied at Havering College doing a BTEC National Diploma in Construction, which lead me to this course at Brighton. The reason that I chose this course is an ever-growing interest in the way things develop, from the foundation up to the end result. I am fairly artistic and have a mind full of fresh ideas. I am always looking to better myself and I am open to new ideas from others. Education/Qualifications: Havering College 2007 • BTEC National Diploma in Construction: DMM (A-level equivalent ABB) • City and Guilds – Auto CAD level 3 2D • ARCHi-CAD Experienced Brighton University Below are the grades for the first year at university, and having passed to continue into the second year. Grade - Result: Building Technology and Design - C Pass Professional and Contractual Studies - A Pass Indoor Environment and Building Services - C Pass IT and Study Skills - A Pass Individual Study Project 1 - in the Built Environment - C Pass Surveying Practice - B Pass European Studies - B Pass GCSE Results English: BB Maths: C History: C Science: BC Geography: C Sport Science: C D&T (Graphics): B Work Experience: I’ve worked in two establishments. Firstly, I worked at Morrisons Supermarket in Chingford, London E4, as a Sales Assistant in their caf? on Friday and Saturday. This was from May 2007 up to June 2008. I gained a lot of keys skills that are required in a public establishment. Prior to that, between the months of November and March, I worked at Canary Wharfs seasonal Ice Rink as a Supervisor. I worked there for two years and this was my first serious job. There, I made close friends and met many important and successful individuals. As I have a passion for Ice Hockey, everything came second nature in this job and from my knowledge of ice rinks, it helped in difficult situations. I undertook work experience on a construction site, working with a ground works company for a year in 2006, as my Father was the Foreman. I learned key skills and the realistic approach to some building methods. Ambitions My main ambition in life is to succeed and gain my degree, which will determine my future career. I believe the younger generation are capable of incredible things to come and elements such as part-time work or work experience in my chosen career will stand me in good sted, once I’ve graduated. |
