PREPARATION to DESIGN CONCEPT - STAGES A, B, C
We will identify your needs and objectives, prepare feasibility studies and assess different options to enable your to decide whether and how to proceed. We can give you advice on structural and building services systems, that may require further input from other consultants.
PLANNING APPLICATION / DEVELOPED PROPOSALS- STAGE D
We can develop the proposals with enough detail to prepare a planning application. It can include sample boards and 3D views.
TECHNICAL DESIGN and PRE-CONSTRUCTION - STAGE F
We will prepare technical design and specifications in liaison with consultants for building control stage.
TENDER PROCESS- STAGES G-H
We can prepare documents to allow for a competitive tender process and help you make an appraisal on the returned tenders/quotes.
MOBILISATION and CONSTRUCTION - STAGES J-K
For large projects we can administer a formal construction contract or for smaller projects we can provide you with some site supervision and liaise with the contractor.
POST PRACTICAL COMPLETION - STAGE L

MILU Architecture is a young dynamic North london architecture practice. We offer a range of architectural services tailored to your needs. We like to work with clients and consultants to come up with high quality contemporary solutions that adds value to your property. We look at making better use of old spaces through reconfiguration and bring fresh ideas to new spaces or building with a sensitivity to the surrounding environment. As part of the collaboration process we look at ways of utilizing sustainable design strategies.
We can help you choose from a range of services below depending on the complexity of your project. We realise that projects vary in size and complexity. You may just want some design advice or some drawings to be drafted to construction level. Our competitive fee proposals are flexible and can be based on a selection of the full design services listed below. The intial consultation is free of charge to help establish the kind of service you require. NB: The last item, can be an additional service provided on top of the full architectural service which already includes space planning, finishes, colour selection and site inspection.
Michelle played a key role in making sure the design was exciting, fresh, affordable and fit for purpose. She was keen to engage young people in the development of the design and as the client, we found her very easy to work with and responsive to our needs. I can wholeheartedly recommend Milu Architecture. Michelle initially sketched out some plan concepts and came up with a rough guide budget. She also suggested the possibility of phasing the work and how best to go about it, as we needed to continue living in the flat.
This two bedroom flat with tired yellow painted wall finishes called for a new interior designed modernised scheme. The client required interior design advice on finishes, furniture selection and arrangement, and design of discreet bespoke joinery. The existing brick work to the chimney breast was exposed in the living and bedroom areas allowing for the natural texture and colour of the bricks to bring character to the room.
Phase 1: Construction and refurbishment of kitchen and bathroom areas. Our client required proposals to reconfigure the existing living and kitchen areas finding ways to maximise space usage and to look at building a new bedroom with ensuite in the existing roof space.
This grade II * listed house required a sensitive refurbishment of the existing spaces whilst at the same time accomodate the clients modern day living requirements including pool and entertainment areas at a new basement level. Solar heating and ground source heat pump provision to the house was also researched.
As part of planning application approval of the associated new build office block nearby, work was required to bring back to life this grade 2 listed manor house. The building was in derelict condition and needed complete refurbishment fit for office use, The design and construction of a new central atrium space provides for new communal conference facilities. Michelle was the team member responsible for the interior design and the co-ordination of construction detailing of the glass atrium.
A grade 2 listed community centre within the grounds of Coram's Fields park required stripping out and redesign for the provision of modern, fun facilities for socially deprived young people in the area. The new design creates opportunities to meet, learn IT and living skills and be able to access art and music room facilities. Michelle was the project leader for the architecture team from planning through to construction phases. She thoroughly enjoyed working with both the management/client and young people at the centre to develop this scheme.
