From Our Website

In 1958, Lawrence Bader and Edward Miller founded Bader Miller in High Holborn, London and following the addition of further partners developed it into the Bader Miller Davis Partnership. The name was subsequently changed to bmd Architects and the Practice went from strength to strength as it attracted numerous major Clients. Although both founding partners are now retired, the Practice is still thriving in Central London in a converted Victorian Grain Warehouse in the City of London. We continue to regard our Clients requirements as the focus of our design development ensuring that the building not only works as a form but works as an environment.

Shown is a scheme involving the retention of the faade of a listed former hospital building with the entire redevelopment of the site to provide a large retail unit, adjacent smaller retail units and residential flats. The site and buildings behind the main faade were completely redeveloped to provide space for a major retailer's food store at ground level with customer parking to the rear. Conservation work was carried out to the listed faade and a replica wing constructed to the right-hand side with arched access to the parking behind.
